Playing Experience: Derrick Adams was born and raised in Decatur, Alabama and graduated from Austin High School in 2015. After high school, he signed with Jacksonville State University and played there for three years. Following his junior season at JSU, he was selected by the Kansas City Royals in the 27th round of the 2018 MLB draft.

Derrick spent four years in the Royals organization and the last two years in the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball. He is currently getting ready to go play his second season of winter ball with the Criollos de Caguas in Puerto Rico. He has played professional baseball for the last 6 years and has been coaching every offseason.
